A Treasured Gift

I have to admit that while I absolutely LOVE to give at Christmas, I also love to receive ; )!!  Giving feels so good.  To create, shop, and wrap... part of my strong love for Christmas.  And to receive, well it is the kid in me.  The starry eyed little girl with hair in my eyes and chipped off polish that comes out when my mom or my sweetie gives a gift I have been long awaiting.  And this last Christmas was one of those moments.  I had been longing for the Farm Chicks Christmas book for as long as I knew she was working on it.

When I unwrapped this special gift that my mom had searched for and bought I couldn't help but to tear up.  I took it everywhere I went while in Kansas.  It was in the car with me when we drove from family member to family member.  I brought it in the house to set on my lap.  And on our ride back to Arkansas I read the entire book from front to back.  When I was done I set it down beside me only to pick it up again to flip through the beautiful pictures.

I love Serena's style.  It is white, clean, bursts of color, and playful.  I bought her first book The Farm Chicks in the Kitchen and fell in love.  It is such a sweet book!  This Christmas book is just as precious.

The pictures in this book make my heart swoon...

And guess what??!!

She signed it!!

The back of her Christmas book has sweet little recipe cards and gift stickers... *sigh*

On this beautifully ccccold day in Arkansas I will be enjoying a hot cup of chocolate that my lovely friend Lily in England sent me.

And flipping through this adorable book once more.

Merry Christmas to you and yours!

The pictures are BEAUTIFUL! You are a very lucky lady to have such a thoughtful mother who loves to give just as much as you!

I borrowed it from the library...I was down in the queue and my turn didn't come up before Christmas as I'd hoped, but it was great to bring back the spirit during the dullness of January.

I can see why you love this book so much! You must have been so excited to have it signed on the back! I was when I saw it! How thoughtful your Mom was to get you such a lovely gift! I don't know if you're an animal lover, but I've started another blog about pets. They make me smile! Have a great Valentine's Day!
