Now that Christmas 2009 is over we can start planning for Christmas 2010! The day after Christmas is like Black Friday around here. We go to bed early Christmas evening to wake up at 4am the following day. We hit all of the major Christmas display shopping centers like Wal-Mart, Target, Home Depot and Walgreens. My favorite is Target. They always seem to have the coolest decorations. We do this because everything is 50% off the original price!!! A savings we are happy to take advantage of. While shopping Brad is usually looking at outside decorations and I am shopping for the following years gifts for teachers and the girls friends.
I want to really brag on LED lights. We bought enough for the whole house in 2008 and used them in 2009 and they worked!!!!! Our bill was cut in half... wait... even more then half. Seriousely think about LED lights. They are more expensive then the regular but will save you money in the long run. And if you buy them the year before they are half off.
Now, we use to store them by keeping their individual boxes in the attic and putting them back in there when we were done with them but not this year. This year we threw all of the boxes away! Instead we wound the string of lights up loosely and bound them together with a tie wrap. This saved a bunch of space. And the LED covers are plastic so this works perfectly. We don't have to worry about breaking C9's anymore. Another thing we do is put all of our decorations away in totes. They are all red and green. This tells us exactly which ones are for Christmas and which ones are for Halloween (black and orange). They sell color coordinated totes according to the season at the end of the season.
Anyway, those are my thoughts as of now. I am very excited for this Christmas. We found air pumps to plug in your car cigarette lighter half off!!! Woohoo, I know what some men in our family will be getting, tehe.
Blessings
