The stockings were hung...

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care...

Where do you hang your stockings?  We don't have a typical fireplace like most people do.  Instead we have a cast iron wood burning stove.  It looks just like this one...

We use it as our primary source of heat during the winter and I love it.  We keep the window clean so you can see the fire burning bright and it gets so warm and cozy.  The problem is... where to hang our stockings?  We built a back frame away from the wall and covered it with tile.  We did this to vent the hot hair away from the wall.  Every year I balance our stocking hangers and stockings on the ledge of the frame.  While I love the look of the stockings hanging by the fireplace It got me to searching for different places to hang them...

I absolutely love this idea... but we don't have stairs

I think I see a fireplace back there.  And I like the idea of hanging the stockings against the wall... hmm.

Oh how I LOVE this idea!  What a perfect picture.  Only problem is, our piano is in the dining room.  I shall keep looking!!!!

Your quest is great and as a child we had no fireplace and hung our stockings on the doorknobs to our rooms, and Santa always found us.

I am lucky to have a fireplace, but in the past I have hung them in the windows or on the piano, like in the picture. :)

We have the same problem, of not knowing where to hang our stockings. No fireplace, and with stairs that have the banaster against a wall, it is a difficult choice. I've hung them on the knobs of the draws of our wooden buffet table before. Problem is, there are only 3 knobs, and 4 stockings. I've hung them over chairs in desparation before too. Lots of ideas here...love the photos you chose. We used to have a wood pellet burning stove as our sole heat source, when we lived in the mountains in Pennsylvania. Love those things! I didn't forget about the Panettone recipe for you. I'm just trying to dig out the one I used last Christmas. I hope to find it soon.
