Christmas Breakfast

(sonofthesouth.net)

Christmas morning is filled with so much magic.  Who has time to make a nice breakfast??  With a little preparation the night before... we all do!  Our Christmas morning breakfast is always the same.  It has been the same ever since my husband and I married.  It consists of Monkey Bread, scrambled eggs, and hot cocoa.  Here is our family recipe for Monkey Bread:

1 pkg frozen rolls (Rhodes)
1 stick of butter
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 c brown sugar
1 pkg regular butterscotch pudding

Grease bunt cake pan.  Put rolls in layers in pan.  Melt butter and pour over rolls.  Mix cinnamon, brown sugar, and pudding.  Sprinkle mixture over rolls.  Cover with a towel and let rise over night.  Christmas morning preheat the oven to 350 degrees and cook for 20-25 minutes.  Take out of oven and turn over onto a serving plate immediately.  ENJOY!!

I searched the Internet to find other ideas for an easy and fun Christmas morning breakfast.  Here are some ideas...

Growing up Christmas morning was always so magical for me.  I woke up as soon as the sun came up or even before the sun came up.  I would run down the hall and there was always a beautiful display for my eyes to feast on.  Mom would always have the tree plugged in so the lights danced in my eyes.  We didn't always have a lot of money but I would never of known it.  Mom would always display my stocking full of candies.  She always had marshmallow snowmen or Santa's peaking out, they were my favorite!  Another thing I could almost always count on was a stuffed animal from Mervyn's Department Store.  They were usually silly farm animals that layed flat... perfect for night time cuddles.  Oh what wonderful Christmas morning memories I have!

What are some of your Christmas morning time memories?  I love to hear such happy memories!

All looks yummy Mandie :) I am hoping to try a new recipe this Christmas. I am going to try it this weekend though & see how it turns out. You'll see a video if it turns out all right!
I love the idea of cocoa for a drink to make it special. We usually have coffee. I need the caffeine you see as I wake up really early ;)

Hi Mandie,
You showed us lots of great recipes. I think I will try each one, every Sunday during the month of October...pick out the best one, and then serve that one Christmas morning. I'm with Lily though on coffee being a must! Otherwise, I'm having withdrawals while the kiddos are opening their presents. Someone needs to have a steady hand on the camera, right? ;)
My favorite Christmas memory is after all the presents were opened, I would lie down under the Christmas tree, and just stare up at the twinkling Christmas lights. The lights twinkled like millions of stars in the dark night. At least that is what I envisioned. We always had multi colored lights that would flash on and off. A simple memory, but a long lasting one!
